AI Startup Insight Health Launches Virtual Care System to Streamline Clinical Workflows

Insight Health, a new startup in the healthcare AI space, has emerged from stealth mode with a suite of artificial intelligence agents designed to handle routine clinical tasks. The company's technology aims to significantly reduce the administrative burden on healthcare providers while improving patient engagement and care quality.
AI Agents Take on Patient-Facing Clinical Work
Insight Health's flagship agent, Lumi, communicates directly with patients through voice or text to gather detailed disease-specific histories and update medication lists. The AI-powered system can autonomously conduct patient follow-up appointments, process incoming referrals, prepare charts, and act as an AI scribe.
"We're building a clinical co-pilot that really pairs with the patient and the provider across that continuum of care," said Jaimal Soni, co-founder and CEO of Insight Health. The company's approach goes beyond reducing documentation burdens, using agentic AI to create a more comprehensive and up-to-date baseline for each patient.
Time Savings and Improved Patient Care
Early adopters of Insight Health's technology have reported significant time savings. According to Soni, providers are saving an average of 10 to 20 minutes per visit. This efficiency gain allows healthcare professionals to focus more on developing care plans and engaging with patients during appointments.
The system has already handled over 100,000 clinical conversations autonomously, with approximately 1,500 clinicians across multiple specialties using the platform daily. Customers include Coastal Health Specialty Care, Santiam Hospital, The Oregon Clinic, and clinics within top 10 health systems.
Integration and Safety Considerations
Insight Health's technology integrates with several electronic health record vendors, including athenahealth, NextGen, AdvancedMD, DrChrono, and Office Practicum, with an Epic integration in development. The company has focused on building what Soni calls "safe AI" with strong foundations in safety, security, and trust, anticipating future industry-wide standards and regulations.
With $4.6 million in seed funding from Kindred Ventures, Insight Health is poised to expand its reach in the growing healthcare AI market. As the industry continues to evolve, the company's comprehensive approach to clinical workflow automation may set a new standard for AI integration in healthcare settings.
